My life has never been much good until the day I found the Lord. I have stolen, cheated, lied, and forged – all in the great addiction of money. I wanted the best of everything from holidays to gifts for my daughter.
I thought I was invincible, taking out loans which, if common sense had prevailed, I would have realized that there was no way I could pay it back. However, this went on for some time until the 15th August 2008 when I realized that I could not afford to pay for the holiday for my wife’s 40th birthday. I got in my car and drive with no idea where I was going or what I was doing. I ended up in West Wales and thought this is a good place to end it all. A weekend of drink and tablets nearly did end it all.
After a short time in a mental hospital (which is another story) I came back home to my wife and daughter. My wife and her family are all Christians. At this time I still was guilt ridden because I had stolen all their Christmas savings; needless to say I could not face them.
However I should not have worried because I was met by warm friendliness; this was due to their Christian faith, which somewhat confused me. How could they act like this after all I had done? At this point I just thought there may be something in this Christian life but carried on. I was off work for seven months with depression. Then one day my wife gives me this booklet to read. It was The Word for Today. At first I was just reading the daily devotions, and then they started to mean something which led me to a church I felt comfortable with.
My salvation came on 20th March 2009. And what a day – all my fears and worries were taken away.
And the future? Well it’s getting better day by day. The money problems are getting sorted and my Christian faith is getting stronger by the day.

The giant you are fighting today is not bigger than the God who is living within you. Failing does not make you a failure...quitting does...not seeing beyond it does...not learning from it does...not growing stronger because of it does.
